How a development job runs
You get a written scope and timeline first. I build on a staging address you can watch, with a working demo at each stage, and move the site to live hosting only after you approve it. Every file, database and login is handed over in your name. After launch, updates and fixes come from the same person who built the site.

What is the difference between website design and website development?
Website design is the look and layout: pages, colours, images and how a visitor moves through the site. Website development is the code behind it: the content management system, forms, database, shop, security and speed. I do both, so there is no hand-off between two suppliers.
WordPress, Joomla or custom: which should I choose?
For most business websites WordPress is the easiest to manage. Joomla suits larger content sites with several editors. Custom PHP makes sense when you need software rather than pages. I will recommend one after a short conversation and tell you why.
Do you maintain the website after it goes live?
Yes. Updates, backups, security patches and small changes can be covered by a yearly arrangement, or I hand everything over if you would rather manage it yourself.
